PORTO SANTO Is primarily a beautiful golden nine kilometre long sandy beach. It is said that Christopher Columbus once lived on the island.

You can visit his house which is now a small museum in the main town of the island — Vila Baleira, The heart of the town is the beautifully paved Largo do Pelhourinho, which surrounded by date palms.

Porto Santo’s warm waters and hidden coves are ideal for diving and snorkelling. It’s a two hour ferry crossing from Funchal marina to Porto Santo or a short 15 minute flight.
